A year in Review

Well I haven't Bloged on here in FOREVER, but I guess now is as good a time to catch up.

What have I been Doing....


Judo Update....

I was doing amazing, I was going to Judo 2X a week Tuesdays and Friday for 2 months solid! BUT.......Doing that kinda made me loose my routine with the P90X, it was just to hard to keep both going. I wasn't waking up early to work out, I would get off work of a very stressful day, and then drive 35 mins to Fort Collins and do Judo, and then it just kept getting darker and darker eariler and eariler. I lost the wieght I gained from when I quit doing the X back in May. Judo is a great Full Body workout. But.......Winter hits early in Wyoming.

Weather has been a constant BITCH this year. Last year was no where near this bad. Roads are closed all the time, and look at me i'm making excusses!FUCK

Needless to say, I haven't done Judo in over a month, going on 2 months. I'm down 20 pounds from when i first moved to Wyoming, so i'm basically at where I was in May, without the tone and definition.

New year new goals right.



Looking back at my past blogs are a great way to gain perspective of where I was and where I am. I'm starting the X back up I've desided on Jan 4th. Its a Monday when I get back from Christmas. As before I dont have many travel plans during the time I am going to do this, but this time i'm not going to get over zelous and try to do to many things at one time. I should finnish mid April, in time to be well on my way of a 2nt round before Summer even gets here.
And when summer arrives I'll try to pick Judo back up because I really did have a great time doing it.


Well I hope everyone is having a good break, and a very merry christmas and happy new year. I know the weather is frightful, so I hope you all find a fire thats delightful somewhere else.

Day 15.5

Just got back from Judo.......yeah...........I think I'll feel this tomorrow.


Basically all I did for 2 hours tonight was fall down...over and over and over again learning how to disipate my energy when I hit the ground.....yeah about as much fun as it sounds....

workout wise, it kinda reminded me a little of the first time I went snowboarding, falling down again and again...having to pick your self off and keep at it. I sweat, I sweat alot. My Gi also came in today. Basically its this Karate type garb but for one BIG difference. Being made for Judo it wieghs alot. I mean this thing wieghs about as much as a lead vest I have to wear when i'm in radiology. its like 30 freak'n pounds! So yeah I sweat alot in it.

The Dojo I'm in is kinda funny. Its literally in this guys Garage okay no joke. I pull up with my Garmin all telling me where to go look arounds and i'm like WTF where is this place. I "walk" around the block and then when I get back to my car i'm like FUCK. then I look across the street and there is this guy with his Gi on...in a garage.....lol I'm like OH MY GOODNESS WHAT IS THIS GETTO JUDO????? I go in, and in the back of this buisness building "for constructions i'm guessing" is a DOJO that looks ligit inside, just kinda funny is all.

Day 15

Well woke up at 5:30, got the X done. Showered, shaved, ate, now getting ready to go to work. Got Judo for the first time tonight so well see how that goes.... Maybe I'll get all pissed off at work today then go do Judo and just kick ass.....but i'll probably just get my ass kicked.
So far so good, workouts are going well. This weekend was alittle light, went to the lake so diet sucked and workout (its aworkout just being a the lake) was so so. But now i'm back and doing doubles in the morning with x everyday and judo 3 nights a week. If this doesn't get me in amazing shape then I just guess i'm retarded and have no idea what it would take to get in shape you know!

Day 9.....Kung Fu Stu

So far so, good. Its been way easier getting back on a scheld now that I dont really have any huge plans for a while. Workouts have been going good too. Already feel that strength coming back.

I also enrolled into a martial arts class that I guess I start on Monday, I figured it would be way easier to have some accountability if I had people somewhere waiting on me to show up and workout. I figure doing a jujistu judo would be a great 2nd workout, as long as I get my lazy ass up to do my P90X workouts in the morning on those days. And, I've always thought it would be kickass to get a blackbelt in something so we will see. If you haven't noticed i'm very sporadic and OCD so we will see.

Day.......7......lol i'm so worthless!

Okay I see that in may was my last post...uh and I think that was my last workout....and since then I've been eating like crap again and not working out. Yeah here I am writing another "I'll do better this time!" blog.....seems like I have alot of those.

Anyway I'm starting again....again....... Just finished the frist week, and as far as I can tell I have nothing that will be getting in the way of a solid routine this time at least for a while. This summer has been full of travel for me. With work meetings across country, weddings, family events.....just completely ended me...which sucks because I made so much progress the frist time.

A friend of mine just downloaded some pictures of me from earlier this month on facebook...GOD DAMN IT i need to get my shit figured out. Its like really.......do I really look like that....FUCK I DO, I DO!!! DAMN IT!!!"

So I'm just finishing my first week and everything really feels like its falling into place again as far as getting into a rythm. As I promised I'll post picture but only when I get back to around day 30-35 again. Sucks I got off my grove the first time but now I'm more motivated...damn facebook.........

Day 36

Well this last weekend I went back to Hays Ks, to hang with all my peeps...that involved eating like i did when I lived there, and drinking ungodly amounts of beer and liquor. Well...its been about a year since I last partied like that...Imagine doing that 3X a week all year long....thats what got me to this point..lol


Anyway Got my workout for the day over with. I'm now on day 36 which is about 35 days more than I thought I would get. When I went back to Hays I got lots of looks from my friends and them telling me I looked good. THANK GOD someone is able to tell. This weekend made me gain 5 pounds, I'm sure I'll be back to my fit self by the end of the week....

Day 31

WEll the first month is over only 59 days left to go. Can't believe I've stuck to it for so long without giving up. Last week was my rest week. I was suppose to do yoga can cardio type workouts but i just said fuck it, this is my rest week I'm not doing SHIT. I'm really feeling that rest week today. Ouch...Feel like i'm back at day 5. arms and legs are killin me but its really not that bad i'm just a baby.

So far I have lost about 10 pounds, and from last year at this time I've lost 20. I've got another 20 I hope to loose by the end of July and then I hope to continue on for another round.

Day 16

Just finished the workout a few hours ago. Its weird I get off work, I workout, and then its late...ugh.....So much for wakeing up way early to get it done. I do wake up alot eariler then I did before just not early enough to workout shower eat then headout.

So far the plan is going really well. I've been eating well, workingout every day that I'm suppose too. My arms, legs and back really feel stronger and more toned. Still have a gut, but rome wasn't built in a day you know.

I no longer feel any pain for the most part. I'm keeping up with the workouts too, still need to take a break here and there but I'm getting better. I no longer feel like throwing up, so thats a good thing.

Here is to being 17% done with only 74 days left

Day 10

wow Day 10 is over

only 79 more left...


Soreness for the most part is completely gone. Still a sting here and there to remind me that I'm making progress.

Workouts are going good. It wierd that I'm on day 10 and I'm only going through the workouts for a second time....With P90, it would have been this over and over and over and over again and again....BLAH!!! This workout is really kicking my ass, and I feel great and motivated, More so than when I first started. When I started it was more like "okay here is this thing i got so lets start it" now is more like "WOW, I have abs...wow I have arms too...where did those come from!?!?!"

Day 7

First week is over…..7 days done….83 days left. By the middle of this week I’ll be into the 70’s as far as days left….Got to keep a prospective to keep me motivated.

Just finished Kempo X. It’s a really good cardio workout using taibo type of moves. Ahhhhh glad its over

Review of the first week:

Diet for the most part is going really well so far. I’m doing a decent job making sure I have the right portions of protein/carbs/fat about 50/30/20%

Workouts are going good too for just starting. With some of the workouts I can’t quite do as many reps but I’ll get there

Soreness is a lot less then before, don’t get me wrong I still feel it. Especially in my glutes, my back and my arms. But its livable, and you got to figure if your not sore at least to some degree your not working hard enough.

I’m also using the message boards on beachbody .com, the people that make p90x. Theres lots of people also doing it that started the same time I did, and they are in way worse shape than I. Which to some degree makes me feel fitter…..

Day 5

OMG....UGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the pain.....the pain.......ahhhhhhhhh


Just finnished day 5, Amazing workout today. The way they have the workouts set up, you work one muscle group one day, then the next that group heals as you pick on another group. This being my first week...yeah... I hurt everywhere.. but in a good "No pain no gain" sort of way. really feeling more tone in my arms already. I've lost about 2 1/2 pounds and i'm feeling good about it. So i guess i'm about 5% done now....85 more days left

Day 3

I tell you what....ouch....ouch...and yeah...more ouch....

I'm soooo sore right now. I mean it. day 1 was like 10000 push ups and 2000000000 pull ups, day 2 was nonstop juming for like and hour and a half. Today was like 100000 curls, 1000000 other crazy things i dont know what.

Legs and arms are malfunctioning right now...... But in a good way. Tomorrow is like 75 mins of intense yoga....GOD!!! Thank goodness for long hot showers and asprin.

so i guess this means i'm about 3% done......

Day 2...

So far so good... Keeping up with it fo sho. It is way more intense and there is way more to do. Unlikely to get board anytime soon. arms sore, legs...sore, brain.....sore from thinking about sore..

But i'm doing okay, also the nutrition plan is going good too. Already lost like 2 pounds. Buckets of sweet. Horray fo feelng bad to feel good.

Things I'm sure will get easier

Whats great about this is everyday its different and nothing repeats through the same week and every 4th week is something totally new and refreshing. I just need to make sure I get to week 4 to brag about it....

Day 0....vs. 100.5

Okay okay okay. Didn't last to long on the other workout. BUT i did figure out, or at least think i have, my problem....I"M BOARD with IT. basically its like 2 workouts thats it, never changeing workout mostly with the same DVDs...ugh no wonder I'm not motivated.

SO I up graded the program, a little early, to P90X. This is like the complete package. Military style type of workouts. I ordered the program, some of the equiptment and I got my kitchen stocked with healthy food.....

This program is a LOT MORE extream. It even tells you not to try this program unless you can pass thier "fit test"....Which i just barly squeeked through....

instead of 2 workouts I have 12. Also it comes with its own meal plan and educational book that talks in depth about nutritional science. Really great. Tomorrow I'm starting and hope to stick with it. first round will be over by July the 11th. I'm sure on tuesday I'm going to be like the TIN MAN and stiff as hell. well wish me luck....AGAIN
